SHINE Community Center

Establishing the SHINE Community Center will be a way to keep Lori's dream alive. The building, located at 938 Chestnut Street, Duquesne, PA served as a local Boys and Girls Club. The center is currently vacant and the upkeep has been maintained by SHINE Lawn Care for 4 years. Bringing this center to life will contribute to revitalizing and uniting the Duquesne community. Initally focusing on after-school programs for the first two years, the plan is to gradually introduce further community initiatives.

SHINE Beauty Academy

SHINE Beauty Academy-now nationally recognized is a program one of its kind-just like Lori! SHINE Beauty Academy gives youth the opportunity to create natural hair and skin care products that they put to market and sell during an end-of-program showcase. The Beauty Academy, now in its 5th year is a self-sustaining program-funded solely by the generous donations of sponsors and partners that purchase programming. Now, we would like to extend this program to the city of Duquesne at the Community Center.
